We are learning studio lighting techniques this week with some very dynamic models!
This is Alice, our ballerina. Monday and Tuesday we were learning about hard light vs. soft light and how to achieve those techniques using different methods and tools. We are using the tethering technique which Kevin swears by! Kevin is also very adamant about how to work with the model. How do you approach her, asking permission, and getting a good working relationship with them in order to gain trust, confidence and a chance to work with them in the future.
I hope put more up soon as we shoot. This ballerina will be interesting to photograph tomorrow with her new pink dread locks! Yikes!
I used the Canon 7D for fun with the 24-70mm lens, pocket wizard and the ProFoto 500 D1 lights. Really just one Creative Light octa-soft box above and, though I was slapped on the wrist by Kevin, I was not tethered nor on my Induro tripod. (Don't tell anyone!)
Hal comes home tonight so hopefully he can join in tomorrow!
